  19. Motorola's default setting of 30 seconds to wait for the carrier -- what
  20. Motorla calls "Pause for carrier" -- is often not enough, especially if
  21. there is a long delay between the time the dialing string is sent and
  22. ringing begins. Try setting the S7 register to some higher number like 45
  23. or 60 (eg, ATS7=60).
